Making Grant Applications
Applying to trusts and foundations is one of the most important parts of your fundraising strategy. It can bring in transformational income, which can make a real impact on the lives of your service users. However, applying for grants can be difficult, time-consuming and even intimidating. Working with an experienced Trusts and Grants fundraiser can relieve stress, give you back time and vastly increase your chances of success.

She has experience of the specific challenges faced by smaller organisations, but she also knows exactly how to use your size to your advantage.

The Ochil process
Freelance Grant Writing
So how does it work? We have a tried and tested process that is aimed at making your life as easy as possible. After the initial data-gathering stage, which takes 2-3 months, we will largely be able to work autonomously to apply for a large number of grants. We have a simple fee structure for this service of £300 per day. Below are details of the different stages of working with our Trusts and Grants Fundraiser.
Initial Agreement
The first thing we will do is develop terms of reference, which outline your expectations, the information we require to get started, project objectives, fees, working schedule etc. Both parties will review and sign the document.
Data Gathering
The data gathering stage is the most important part of the process and something that you will have to set aside some time for. We will send you a template project form, which we will ask you to fill out for every service that requires funding. This will cover areas such as project aims and objectives, budget, service users, local stakeholders, how you evaluate the project etc. This must be completed before we can begin our work. We will also need access to your signed accounts, case studies and details of any past funding applications.
Making the Applications
Once we have all the information we need, we will get started on applying for funding. In the first few months, a fair bit of back and forth and checking drafts will be required to ensure that we have all the information on your services correct. However, after we have worked together for a few months, we will need less input from you, the client.
